Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr has stated that she won’t be grateful for winning a Headies award in an unannounced category.
The singer made this known on her X page on Monday, 4th September, 2023.
Ayra Starr was awarded the best female artiste of the year on Sunday during the Headies award at Atlanta.
She wrote: “I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage ! Best female artist na beans ? We work hard, every single one of us ! I’ve seen Tiwa record 4 hit songs in the same night , Tems breaths and lives for music , we didn’t deserve such nonchalance! Nigeria , you didn’t raise me to settle for less”.
Ayra Starr was nominated alongside singers Simi, Tiwa Savage, and Tems, who won the 2022 edition of this category.
